Abstract (Question)
Summary
- Using Multiple Threads ( FTGPARM ) scales the Fatigue portion of the run almost linearly.
- Set msglvl (FTGPARM ) to be less than 4.
Description (Answer)
Details
Below is a chart demonstrating fatigue scaling on multiple cores.
Fatigue analysis is done for each entity, so it scales extremely well. Setting NTHRD to 0 will use the maximum number of allowable threads.
Commands
SMP on FATIGUE analysis runs may be activated by setting NTHRD on the "FTGPARM" entry:
$FTGPARM ID TYPE FACTOR NTHRD LOGLVL
FTGPARM 10 SN 0
Caveats
- Setting LOGLVL = 5 will significantly degrade performance.
