Most MSC products have a ‘Getting Started’ guide which is located in the installed Documentation. The user guide details typical example problems and the steps required to model and simulate the system in Nastran. Nastran products have sample in the ‘mdug’ folder, shown on the left and relevant documentation in the Demonstration Problems Manual (mdug.pdf). These examples are sorted by Chapter/Topic highlighting the steps necessary to use advanced features written for those with a working knowledge of Nastran.
Additional examples can be found in the ‘tpl’ folder (Test Program Library). These Nastran files do not have guiding documentation like the MDUG, but gives the user an idea of the analysis set up. |

A list of examples for illustrating the use of MSC Nastran & Patran are available on the Simcompanion website. The examples have been classified into two categories as Lower Experience and Higher Experience level.
