Adams Acoustics

  • What is it?
    • Enables acoustic simulations powered by Actran to be run after Adams analysis.
    • Based on vibrational motion of a flexible body computed in Adams time-domain analysis.
    • Predicts the acoustic sound radiation in the far field of the chosen Adams flexible body.

  • What is in it for you?
    • Common applications for Adams Acoustics are those where a mechanism resides within a housing.
    • Time domain acoustic analyses when transient phenomena expected: Impact, rattle of free pieces, etc.
    • Frequency domain acoustic analysis when steady or quasi-steady phenomena are expected.
Examples gearbox application at constant RPM, gearbox application with run-up or run-down condition.

Adams Car FMU Damper

  • What is it?
    • New FMU Damper object - replace any existing damper with a model developed in any FMI (Function Mockup Interface) compliant controls modeling package (for example, Easy5, Matlab and so on.).
    • The .fmu files can be referred to directly from the damper dialogs in Adams Car just like any other damper property file.

  • What is in it for you?
    • Model damper forces with higher fidelity or different modeling techniques than those available in Adams
    • Utilize proprietary in-house damper models that they wish to reuse in Adams.

Property File for Real Time FMU Export

  • What is it?
    • The Adams Car export dialog for Adams Real Time analysis enhanced to operate against a property file.
    • Property file defines specific details and settings for the exported functional mockup unit (FMU). Allows specification for signal management as well as parameters specific to Adams Real Time.

  • What is in it for you?
    • Easily manage different Plant configurations, with the goal that Adams Car users could easily and repeatedly generate different plant configurations for their model.
